The HELiCON Enterprise Edition supports and connects the departments Sales, Service, Marketing, Product Management, Research & Development, Logistics, After Sales Service, Finances and IT. This software tool helps you optimize the quote-to-cash process in your company, improve your product quality and translate customer needs via clearly defined processes into the corresponding, customer-specific products or services. The core of HELiCON is the so-called Quotation Process Management (QPM) system that controls, manages, organises and optimises the quotation and order processes in your company, and thus converts complex engineering processes to standardised and automated business and workflow processes.

HELiCON Enterprise is a CAD-, ERP- and PDM-independent solution that enables a rapid and efficient generation of flexible product configurators for any branch of industry. These product configurators supply all required product data and specifications at the push of a button – from the complete proposal with workshop drawings and bills of materials through to the finished virtual 3-D model – so that your customers can immediately see what the product will look like. HELiCON combines the advantages of traditional configuration tools with its virtual graphical 3-D that works on the basis of real-life product structures, thus making the use of a CAD system redundant. In addition, the configurator can be exactly tailored to the requirements of its user.

The strength of the software lies in the easy definition and maintenance of rules. Even the most complex rules are expressed by means of simple table entries, formulae and relations. As the definition does not take place via programming languages, the relations are generally intelligible and can be adjusted by any staff member. The HELiCON kernel will then use these knowledge-based product rules as a guideline for the detection of valid solutions.

Model variables, logical relations and complex formulae can be shared and linked to several models. In this way, a structured model concept is created, enabling a re-use of available knowledge and facilitating maintenance tasks.

The modelling environment connects all model developers involved in a project to a common database, e.g. MySQL, SQL or Oracle, thus enabling several users to work on the same model. Conflicts that may occur will be automatically resolved in this cooperation mode.
