Extract data
Existing CAD and PDM data are extracted from HiCAD and HELiOS to jumpstart the rule definition, and hence also shorten the time-to-market. Data exported includes part definitions, structures, variables, attributes, properties, and part locations.
Define and share rules.
By applying product rules to the extracted CAD and PDM data it is possible to define and control the valid combinations and positioning of the various parts and assemblies. The rule generation is facilitated by an easy-to-use interface that allows the user to set up rules by simple tables, calculations and scripts. The created product knowledge can be tested and verified before being shared to CAD users. When released, the knowledge is shared among the CAD users in an auto-generated configurator.
Configure product
The auto-generated configurator can be launched from HiCAD and enables the CAD users to safely and easily define freely selectable, valid product compositions. Conflicting selections will automatically be resolved and the user will be guided to a valid solution.
Generate and save drawings
The product compositions created in the configurator are exported to HiCAD where the drawings and bills of materials are generated. All articles and drawings will be saved to a project in the PDM system HELiOS.
